Emotional Freedom Technique EFT also called "Tapping" is another self-help therapy. By using a rhythm like tapping on specific places on your faces, hands, collarbone you can help reduce pain and muscle tension, relaxing your body to help to mentally work through memories or triggers of a traumatic event. Much like a massage or acupressure treatment that uses physical pressure on certain sensitive points of the skin to relieve pain and muscle tension. EFT therapies have been found to reduce PTSD symptoms — especially anxiety, depression, and pain. They may also help to decrease the amount of cortisol (a stress hormone) in your body. Although you can eventually use tapping on your own, it’s important to work with a trained, therapist as you’re learning the techniques.
